I’m a trained behavior analyst and I work in education. I’m on Linkedin but I don’t know why since I’m terrible at networking.

I am a registered democrat but as I describe in this post, that’s because in the city where I live, the Democratic primaries determine elections. I dislike this situation but unfortunately I lack the political, financial, intellectual, and social resources to do much about it. So for now, I am “going along to get along”, which is something I really hate doing. [NOTE: on 11-25-22 I changed my political party affiliation back to “unaffiliated”.]

Not that I don’t share things in common with democrats because I do. But I share things in common with republicans, libertarians, members of the green party, the working families party, etc, too. And political parties promote “group think” and that interferes with independent thought, which is something I value highly. So as much as possible, I remain “unaffiliated”.

One major influence on my thinking is the paper The Fixation of Belief by CS Peirce, the founder of American pragmatism. In terms of schools of philosophical thought, I’d say that pragmaticism, empiricism, radical behaviorism, and logical positivism have had the greatest impact on my thinking, at least so far.

I love animals.

I rarely make youtube videos.

I write and post files on the blog, mountvernoncitizen.org. It’s mostly stuff related to the financial operations of the city where I live, but in the spring of 2021 I analyzed city primary elections and that project gave me the idea for this project.
