Since we are between elections, mycandidatescorecard.org, has been reconfigured to allow members of the public to rate the performance of elected officials in the City of Mount Vernon, NY. The attributes selected for rating the job performance of elected officials are similar to the ones used to rate candidates. There are, however, a couple of noteworthy updates/additions:
- Transparency has been replaced by “Open Government”, which entails several principles including transparency.
- Establishment Clause- church leaders and their flocks have been emboldened by a judiciary with a clear theocratic bent. Therefore, where religious fervor runs high, and the line may be crossed (as appears to be the case in the City of Mount Vernon), an Establishment Clause attribute will be added.
Attached are the attributes for City of Mount Vernon elected officials: City Council members, Comptroller, and Mayor.
This is an open rating system, meaning any member of the community can navigate to the website, login, and rate candidates. Ratings can be changed to suit changing opinions. If an individual enters new ratings, their old ratings are replaced (i.e., in the aggregate, the old ratings iare replaced with the new ratings).
